ARTIST STATEMENT

In my artistic practice, I am intrigued by the organic, biomorphic forms and I focus on creating works based on ephemerality, people and the things around me. Throughout my practice, I experiment with mediums that allow me to obtain concave and spherical forms. Aesthetically, I gravitate towards forms that are spontaneous, textural and organic. I am a very hands-on sculptor as a major element of my work is the process of making. By exploring and developing the form through touch, I am able to understand the material better and rework it to form something new. To me, each work is like a discovery since I do not know what the outcome will be.

Recently, she explores videography as a means to document her performances as a way to capture our immersion in time and place, and relating it to her

own personal narrative.
